Larimar other wise known as Blue Pectolite is a rare crystal found only in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean. It embodies the tranquility of the sea and sky energies. Its soft, soothing blues and calming turquoise is streaked with white patterns that resemble sunlight dancing beneath Caribbean waters. It brings the ancient wisdom of Atlantis and is very calming and tranquil. The name Larimar comes from the combination of Miguel Méndez's daughter Larissa and the word Mar, meaning sea. Miguel Méndez and Norman Rilling rediscovered blue pectolite in the Dominican Republic in 1974. Many of the locals of the Dominican Republic and their ancestors were long aware of the stone, the first mention of the stone was in a request to mine Larimar in 1916.
